For the first time, we have an exclusive Champagne and sparkling edit for ‘Icons & Innovators’ customers only.
We’ve rounded up the best of the big name marquees as well as a couple of smaller growers, just in case if you’re keen to branch out with something new.
And, always keen to support our local winemakers, we've included a hedonistic homegrown fizz that no one has seen yet!
This is an international classic, cool and not as commercial as the other big brands. From the very same house that makes the iconic Champagne Cristal – it’s precise, elegant and incredibly finely structured.
Champagne Cattier is situated in Chigny les Roses, a tiny village at the heart of Champagne, between Reims and Epernay. They’re pinot noir specialists and their Blanc de Noirs (white) is considered one of the finest examples in the region.
Janisson & Fils is a tiny, boutique Champagne house based in the grand cru village of Verzenay on the Montagne de Reims. They’ve only just begun shipping to New Zealand and have a complex, smoky, nutty, delicious style.
This is one of the most generous and velvety-smooth Champagne rosé styles we’ve tasted. Scented with berry brioche, creamy biscuit dough, soft nutty notes and hints of citrus – it’s a stunning, finely structured example.
Only just released, this is a wine nine years in the making, with six years on lees and three years additional bottle age. Sourced from early-harvested pinot noir and chardonnay from Nelson, it is pillowy, fresh and shows creamy almond and rising dough aromatics and a rich, generous mouthfeel.
