Gunpowder tea is a green tea that’s been slowly dried and the delicate leaves then carefully rolled into shiny pellets. PJ Rigney uses this Chinese botanical to blend with local Irish ingredients to create this powerful gin in his Shed Distillery which is located on the edge of a lake in Drumshanbo, County Leitrim. This blend of botanicals gives his gin a uniquely exotic aroma and a finish loaded with mineral and saline complexity.
Great in classic cocktails, or on its own with tonic and a generous wedge of red grapefruit.
